A Lonely Yorkshireman

The contradicting ramblings of a sodding old fool

“Be patient!” she says when I loose my patience,
“We…
will be…
together one day!”
The waiting is driving me mad ’cause I want her.
I fear that another will steal her away!

She’s a flirt you see,
a tease of some skill,
and yet, come what may…
she’s proven she wants me and loves me indeed.

But she’s over tttthhhhheeeerrrreeee
and I’m over here.
It’s a catch 22,
a Pandora’s box,
compartmentally mental,
polka dot socks!

This crazy old life sits rocking
and giggling
and chuckling
…at me!

In two years time,
will she be?
Will we?
Oh please,
please tell,
impatiently yours…
me.
