A Lonely Yorkshireman

The contradicting ramblings of a sodding old fool

Nuts

with 4 comments

You know I dearly love you,
you can plainly see.
But you’re freakin’ nutter,
nuts as nuts can be.

Pretty as a pecan,
warped as one as well.
Mad as ol’ mad hatter,
one can clearly tell.

Brazils be slightly bigger
than the average nut.
When you act all nutty
you put giggles in my gut.

Precious as a peanut,
the one I love the most.
I love you in the morning,
spread you on my toast.

One day when you are ready,
I’ll get down on one knee.
‘Be forever mine’ I’ll ask,
‘Macadamia me?’

You truly are quite special,
to me you’re like a dream.
I love you every moment
like Pistachio ice cream.

    • I’ve come to realise that we are meant to be and if life takes her from
me then that would be life telling me that I cannot have my soul mate in this
lifetime. I would accept that and find happiness in work and travel.

  2. I had to read to here to find a comment blank. (Probably missed it with my old eyes!) but it was worth it. Your poetry is funny with a touch of whimsical sadness. I don’t think you’ll be lonely for long, Yorkshire man!
