A Lonely Yorkshireman

The contradicting ramblings of a sodding old fool

Morning

Morning light on tender eyes
the dawning of a day
I want to rise and fly away
love… laugh… play

The day goes dark
light fading black
my painful heart
tears flooding back

I mourn the day
embrace the dark
I scream at life
my beating heart

In here I’ll stay
a memory
the loving man
I used to be

Now empty shell
in darkness lies
stays quiet till
the day he dies

The world has lost
a loving soul…
